{January 12, 2011}   Tribute to My Father

This week has been a rough week due to my father being in the hospital and then passing on friday. While at the hospital I did walk stairs but I haven’t done much exercise since friday and am going back to work this friday. Thank you for all your support in the time of loss it means a lot to me.

My father, Aaron T Brooks lived 87 years, born Nov 17, 1923 and was happily married to my mom for 48 years. He was a devoted father and family man, taking care of his mother in her last years and his brother for 23 years. Family meant everything to my father and he loved us all.

A machinist by trade, he worked hard on our home to make it better and always had a solution to every problem there was a mr. fix it. always working in the garage and handling his own lawn and snow plowing.

During my years at community college before I had my license , he drove me to my college classes and always thought he should have gotten a degree too. He was the one I went to for advice and he was the smartest man I knew.

His funeral was well attended and there was a military salute with the folding of the flag, bugle and 21 gun salute. with the snow falling down it was the perfect tribute to my father. He would have been honored and pleased.

I will always love my dad and miss him in my heart.
